Robert J. Quarles van Ufford takes office as the Secretary General of Organization for World Heritage Cities

Organization for World Heritage Cities welcomes its new Secretary General Robert J. Quarles who takes charge from the 18th February.

Leading the organization for enabling city to city cooperation, capacity building for both heritage experts and policy makers and new programs are among his priorities he said in a statement.

Robert Quarles has vast experience in the field of cultural heritage, notably as Director of the National Monuments Organisation of the Netherlands, President of ICOMOS Netherlands and Secretary General of the National Committee for UNESCO in the Netherlands.
