Why Liverpool lost its UNESCO World Heritage status

On 21 July, UNESCO deleted Liverpool from its World Heritage List. The city is the third site that lost its status. Deutsche Welle investigates why the city lost its status. Not only modern buildings, but also diplomatic relations and lobbying within the UN body may have played a role.
