DNA research of the remains of the people who built the famous Stonehenge structure reveals an interesting European lineage. The analysis revealed that these early British inhabitants were part of a magration wave originating from what is now Spain and Turkey.
The study compared DNA with other people living in the same time frame and found that the ancestors of the prehistoric population arrived in Britain roughly 1.000 years before the monument was erected. Although Britain was already inhabited, the different groups of people did not mix much for a long time.
