The Rochester Cathedral and Norwich Cathedral said the golf course and helter skelter are creative ways to attract visitors and to teach visitors about faith. Opponents said the cathedrals are unprofessional and the golf course and helter skelter are serious mistakes.
“For such a place, steeped in mystery and marvel to buy in to sensory pleasure and distraction, is to poison the very medicine it offers to the human soul”, a missionary bishop for the Christian Episcopal Church said.
