A collaboration project between Leiden University and Utrecht Landscape Heritage is conducting large scale online citizen science archaeology project commencing on 6th April at Utrechtse Heuvelrug, a heavily forested region, Netherlands.

The main purpose of this project is to invite citizens participation in scientific research and also to protect archaeological heritage in Utrechtse Heuvelrug region.

The results expected from this Heritage Quest are: developing academic study into artificial intelligence, automatic recognition of archaeological structures by computers to excavating and then protecting archaeological structures dating back to thousands of years for posterity.
