Today is the start of this year’s edition of the EU’s ‘Europe, let’s collaborate!’ forum, which promotes interregional cooperation. One of the projects which will make its mark is the Innocastle project, an international initiative to develop new policy instruments for historic castles in rural or remote areas. Eurodite, who support the project with project management and communication will be present at the forum to share updates on the project.

Innocastle
Innocastle is a European project proposal developed for Interreg Europe which aims to find INNOvating policy instruments for historic CASTLEs, manors and estates.

Mostly located in rural and remote areas, historic castles, manors and estates (HCME) have the potential to stimulate rural and regional development and innovation. However, this requires a shift of paradigm in governance and support.

In order to preserve, transform and exploit these historic monuments, better policies and instruments are needed. Together with the National Institute of Heritage (RO), University College Gent (BE), the Regional Government of Extremadura (ES), Province of Gelderland (NL) and the National Trust (UK) we will exchange  experiences and develop action plans to improve regional policy instruments on heritage castles, manors and rural estates.
