Norway is synonymous with the history of the Vikings and few things are as iconic as the Viking ships to the Scandinavian culture. In this podcast, Norwegian researcher Knut Paasche discusses what it is to be a archaeologist in 2020.

To continue to find out more about their past, the country has taken various steps to preserve and study heritage. Enforcing laws for protection of cultural heritage, use of advanced technology to study and even virtually reconstruct vital artefacts and how our experience with the pandemic will shape history are some of the things the podcast focuses on.

“I think whatever human beings are doing every day, you need some experience. You’re making choices, and if you don’t know what happened before, then these choices are very difficult to make.”
