In the battle against overtourism, Venice is set to introduce new measures for tourists from summer 2022. The measures require tourists to book in advance, to pay a fee and to enter via electronic turnstiles. The entry fee is set to be between €3 and €10, depending on the season. Residents and their relatives, children under six and people staying in hotels will be exempt from the measures.
