By use of various technological visualisations, the experience of visiting Rome’s many monuments has recently received a significant upgrade. With video projections, multimedia light shows and virtual reconstructions, visitors are shown the historical sites of Rome in new light, some of which are no longer there. The implementation of all these 3D experiences aims for a better experience of history and understanding of the remaining heritage. Forbes Magazine’s Livia Hengel explores the ‘digital renaissance’ of Rome.
