OpenHeritage aims to identify and test the best practices of adaptive heritage re-use in Europe. Drawing on the observations and results, the project will develop inclusive governance and management models for marginalized, non-touristic heritage sites and test them in selected “Cooperative Heritage Labs”. In order to develop an understanding of the different policy, regulatory and financial contexts in which heritage can be reused, WP1 investigates heritage and other relevant policy and funding in fifteen countries across Europe. This report presents the findings of Work Package 1 for the OpenHeritage project, funded under the EU’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme (grant agreement 776766).
