New: the European Cold War Network

Cold War Heritage

On 4th February 2022, the European Cold War Heritage Network was established by representatives from different member states of the European Heritage Heads Forum (EHHF)

The objective of the network is to facilitate contact between #coldwar#heritage specialists, to share and disseminate information on the management of Cold War Heritage and to collaborate on transnational products.

The first product will be a European Cold War Heritage map. Inspired by research in Denmark (@Kulturarvsstyrelsen) and England (@HistoricEngland), each state can plot 10 of its own most significant monuments of the Cold War on to this shared map. Undoubtedly, Cold War Heritage is a universal European heritage.

The European Heritage Heads Forum (EHHF) is an informal, professional and expert network for national heritage heads (built heritage, landscapes and archaeology) of the countries of the European Union, the European Economic Area and the member-states of the Council of Europe. It provides a forum for information and experience exchange about the management of the historic environment in the 21st century.
