The New European Bauhaus Awards and the New European Bauhaus Rising Stars have been awarded in ten different categories. In the category “Preserved and Transformed Cultural Heritage”, the project Xifre’s Roof: Floating Wild Garden (Spain) won an Award and the project Retrofitting the Unesco Site of Ivrea (Italy) won a Rising Star.
During the ceremony, European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, Mariya Gabriel, said: “The winning projects show that by joining forces across the arts, education, research and innovation, we can build sustainable, inclusive and accessible environments that improve the quality of life for us all.”
