As museums start to reopen across Europe, NEMO has conducted a survey to understand the economic impact of the COVID-19 lockdown on 1000 museums in 48 countries.
NEMO says that it is imperative that the museums to learn from the crisis in order to effectively respond, adapt and mitigate. The lockdown has resulted in weekly income loss and new working methods and operations, for example The report includes recommendation for economic support for museums, investment in digitisation of cultural heritage and making museums fit for crises.
