The European Commission has launched the first calls for the EU’s Creative Europe 2021-2027 programme. Interested parties can now submit their applications to six calls in the MEDIA strand. The announcement marks the start of a busy summer, as experts expect more invitations to be launched soon.
The European cultural heritage sector could already read up on Creative Europe’s annual work programme, which the Commission launched on 26 May. This document explains the plan’s policy frameworks, the three different strands (MEDIA, CULTURE and CROSS-SECTORAL) and how the programme will work in practice for 2021.
Calls and deadlines
The six calls launched come from the largest strand, MEDIA, which receives €1.427B in total. The strand focuses on audiovisual media mostly. Check out the available calls below:
- Networks of European Cinemas (deadline 10 August 2021 – 17:00 CET)
- European mini-slate development (deadline 12 August 2021 – 17:00 CET)
- European Festivals (deadline 24 August 2021 – 17:00 CET)
- Films on the Move (deadline 24 August – 17:00 CET)
- European slate development (deadline 25 August – 17:00 CET)
- TV and Online Content (deadline 25 August – 17:00 CET)
Experts wanted
Apart from applications for calls, the European Commission is still looking for experts to evaluate projects during the Creative Europe 2021-2027 programme. This call is for those interested in assessing the MEDIA strand and the News Media sector. The last cluster is one of the newest additions to the Creative Europe programme.
