EU delegation meets Albanian Minister of Culture to discuss restoration of earthquake damaged heritage sites

Ambassador Luigi Soreca the Head of the EU Delegation to Albania met with Minister of Culture Elva Margariti to discuss plans for EU funded programme that will help in reviving the cultural heritage destroyed in the 26th November earthquake.

Called “EU4Culture”, the programme will not only help in restoring the destroyed heritage structures but also help in developing Albania as a tourist destination.  The aim is to promote Albanian cultural heritage in the on-going tourism programme for local economic development.

The project is currently in the designing stage and the list of sites and starting date is yet to be finalised.
